In February 2010, the elimination round of the talent hunt show ‘Asianet Idea Star Singer Season 4’saw one of its most loved contestants about to be ‘eliminated’ from the show. Danny Sebastian is his name. However, Danny had touched many hearts by then.
Asianet Idea Star Singer Season 4: Danny’s Journey
When Danny first came into this show, I was sure he wouldn’t last more than a couple of rounds. What made him emerge as one of the most popular stars of this show is that he is a simple, down-to-earth Malayali whom every Malayali in any part of the world would feel ‘I know someone just like him.’ When Danny began to incorporate feedback from the judges, it showed amazing results in the quality of his singing. When Danny danced, he danced very badly, (like most mallus 
no pun intended). The audience demanded more and more dancing from Danny because they loved his boldness and the fact that he wouldn’t give up trying.
There were two reasons why Danny was about to be eliminated from Asianet Idea Star Singer Season 4. Firstly, during a song, he forgot the lyrics and refused to sing thereafter. Secondly, his marks dipped drastically after the performance. It just shows how a single moment of failure can impact the very quality and credibility of the work that we do.
Asianet Idea Star Singer: Support for Danny
Danny confessed that he was deeply pained when he heard that he was not getting sufficient SMSes even during his best performances. He talked about how this affected his self-confidence and made him feel that the people he is singing for don’t really care or feel he’s good enough to be encouraged. This damaged his self esteem and probably, that is why he lost confidence and forgot the lyrics.
Believe it or not, Danny was saved from the elimination round because people who watched and believed in his amazing talent sent SMSes one after the other. Danny got 50,000 SMSes for a performance in which he had ‘failed to deliver.’
Danny, You Made Me Believe Anything is Possible
In life, we all go through these phases, don’t we? It’s not just Danny that I cried for. It’s for me and so many others like me who have gone through painful phases and somehow failed to find the light at the time. Through different people or sources, we can find the light, even when we give up hope. It is possible. Anything is possible. Dear Danny, you just convinced me about this belief in real time.

Jaga, why are you so much supporting Danny? Is he paying for this? He is the poorest contestant in the whole team. All good contestants are losing their chance just because of his ego and because of some of the judges’ favourism. One judge is his supporter…another is a silent spectator and the third feels bad for this…. We all viewers can understand all these. Same favourism had happened 2007 also.
If Danny goes to grand finale…it is confirmed that it is merely because of flavorsome….and untruth SMS…..for his behavior and sad, arrogant character….I have my strong drought…any public would support him….I and few people like me would be definitely surprised how did he reach till the 14th stage…he had to be eliminated in the starting it self….. he has a very sad sound box…must say…and public approach even more sad to say.
I must also say that this season 4 star singer is a staged show i.e. — planed and show exactly like the star singer in 2007……it’s not the BEST singer that wins the show…and that is a sad thing……
Pls try changing all this sad drama….and let the best win…..in honesty and truth…that is what all the viewers would want and would love to watch…..and expect from the GREAT IDEA STAR SINGER……

I thought Danny has taken a wise decision, when he accepted his position. Un fortunitely, to a bad note to the best popular show, he is back again after pusing another good , up comming /prospective singer. Please try to make the show by judgingthe singing capacity and the marks and calibar, presentation etc., and not on favouritism. The SMS should not made the final deciding factor. Every participants/singers /judges and viewers should try to make the show genune and bring out best from the singers.

@Mrs Kumar: Thanks for sharing your thoughts but I don’t believe the judges are biased. I have no reason to believe that these musical legends would pander to Danny’s ego or that of any other singer. I liked your hint about payment, really. I wish Danny was paying but sadly, he doesn’t. Maybe I should forward reader sentiments to Asianet and they will be kind enough to incorporate your suggestion. I could grow richer:)

It’s Star Singer, lets not forget. It’s not just about discovering the best singer but about finding the star too.
You’ve got to be a whiz at both and getting the fine balance of being a star chosen and popularly called so by the people, meaning a majority of us and then being acknowledged by the musical wizards is a tough bargain. Danny is a very hard working singer but perhaps not always the best. I believe we are no different from Danny and thats why a majority of people support him. He’s no musical legend like AR Rahman but he’s one of us, struggling to pursue his love for music on a very competitive platform.

This forum has nothing to do with Idea Star Singer.
I wish I could change the drama, if Asianet Idea Star Singer would hire me to make it more entertaining:) Sadly, just like all of us here, I don’t have any connections with them except through the idiot box, while watching programmes.
Often I felt that the judgement was not fair. The final contenstants can not say true best singer among the team. SMS method and some other rules of the show are restricts to find real singers.
