“I’m passionate about it.” It is this attitude that has borne legends, immortalized mortals and defined life. While a tranquil mind is said to be the state in which one is most connected to the self, I wonder how a strong feeling like passion can be equally spiritual.
Be Passionate About it: Strong Feeling
Last month, a colleague of mine, Arunesh gave me a lift on his Yezdi bike, a machine he is obsessed with. When on the road, I could smell this peculiar fragrance of flowers that bloom only in winter. When I asked him whether he experienced that fragrance, he told me that he could only smell the ride. The machine had filled up his senses.
To Become Passionate About Something
To define passion, it is something towards which we have a very strong feeling. This strong feeling, towards whatever we are passionate about, works spiritually when it absorbs us to an extent that we reach a space that is isolated from the external world. Also, it gives us an opportunity to come closer to our self. While doing something that we are passionate about, we realise our potential to achieve something if we attach a strong feeling with it. There are people passionate about their beliefs. They stand for a cause and fight for it, even if that means standing alone.
Passionate About Life
This passion does not need to be restricted to an activity of interest. One can be passionate about life. The way you bathe, how you listen to music, the manner in which you get your job done, how you spend time with your child – each of these activities can exude that you are passionate about life. One of the quotes about passion by Abbe Yeux-verdi sums it all, “Renew your passions daily.”
