Sidin Vadukut’s Dork – The Incredible Adventures of Robin Einstein Varghese is an amusing read. While the way the protagonist has been sketched keeps you engaged, the uniqueness of Robin’s character makes you ponder.
Dork: To Succeed, Believe You Will!
Robin screws up too often for somebody to imagine that he would one day go on to becoming a successful consultant. However, this does not deter him from believing that he will accomplish whatever he wants to. Similarly, he would be the last boy whom Gouri would like to be in a relationship with. But, he continues to believe that they are made for each other.
Is Belief more Influential than Ability?
The story of Einstein makes one question whether beliefs are more important than abilities to achieve success. Apart from one ultimate disaster, Varghese does not become hopeless despite the innumerable blunders he executes. He finds a positive side to everything, which somehow makes him overcome the negativity associated with events that may cause an upheaval in one’s life.
Yes, the character is weird. Probably, that is what called for such an unusual plot. Still, all this somewhere fits in to make complete sense.
I loved this book coz it had humor, fun, attitude and a peppy factor to it. I too loved the way Robin always sees the positive side of things except till the final incident that catapulted him into fame. In fact, I believe that many times, when we are on the verge of giving up, we are given a boost up because of our own previous positive efforts.
