Since India TV started presenting sting operations, sex scandals and spiritual ‘gurus’ like Nithyananda have been intimate with each other. However, events like these raise certain questions. Is it primarily the prominence in the public eye that has directed wrath towards Nithyananda? Are we imposing allegations of immorality on the basis of the knowledge of reality? Do we stop believing?

Who is Nithyananda?
Viewed as a spiritual guru, Nithyananda was born in 1978. He founded Dhyanapeetam, a movement headquartered in South India, and attracted followers from across the world. In 2007, Nithyananda was elected as the chairman of the International Vedic Hindu University of America, based in Florida. In 2003, he established the Life Bliss Foundation that now consists of more than 1,000 centers across 33 countries and owns many meditation academies.

Whenever my mother sat down to watch Aasaaram’s discourses, a string of comments from my father followed. He said many things like how he was a dacoit and how there were kids missing from his ashram. To this, all my mother had to say was that she was not listening to how the ‘guru’ planned those robberies or what he did to those kids. To her, it was the message that he gave during the discourse that mattered. She continues to do that.
I find it really interesting to see how easy it is to live in the present. She taught me that the only way we can grow is by absorbing from “now” and moving on. Doesn’t it make more sense to receive what you want and ignore what you don’t? Simple filtering…
I donno anything about Nithyananda .. Good,bad, ugly… So cant comment on this…
But i think your point is well taken. Keeping it simple is a good logic, But donno i am still not convinced fully (i know your intention is not to convince me). What you want and ignore what you dont is really good. But many of us really struggling to understand what we want? I think it matters a lot to decide our wants, then only they can decide what to ignore. We live life by giving our control to someone believing he/she can drive us just because of life is a search for a some meaning and that to by believing they can show the path.
People who takes this risk and join with those alchemist are benefited and those who dont find the correct one are exploited. Its a matter of risk what they pay for their belief… (we cant control) Its either real wisdom or still the search has to go on.. In one way I am happy. People who are exploited will be careful to choose their guru’s hereon if they still have faith in their search of life. A good lesson.

It is important that we understand thew fact that the power does not lie in the entity which is believed in. It lies in the belief itself. Therefore, value your self and its beliefs more than what you believe in. That way, you will always be closer to identifying what you really want.

I think this happened only because in chennai 70% are christians and the TV channel & the person who covered the news ware also christians.If they are not christians (they dont cover this news in tv channel) hindu swamijis like nithyananda will still enjoy his life for more 50 years.one ihing I feel is they are not changing the names(still keeping hindu names)if they become pure christians by renaming their names to chirstian names i will be happy.
I think the fathers and the pure christians dont do such kinds so far because if they are fruad like Hindu swami nithyananda 100% TV channels will cover that news no.So far I think single father had not done like this,they are that much pure thats why no TV channel covered such news on us.so beleive in fathers not in hindu priests or swamijis

I believe that the religion that any priest/guru propagates has nothing to do with the sex scandal he is a part of. I am sorry to say but the comment made by you is guided by a very narrow outlook. Rather, the comments is sounding more of a promotional piece.
I have nothing against Christianity and totally respect it. However, forceful conversion activity carried out by missionaries of any religion may widen the spread of the faith in terms of numbers, but would never be able to spread the following of beliefs.

Ankit, you know these sex-starved religious guys often influence what you want in life. (I do not want to say how they do it because everyone knows that). You do not have much choice regarding what you want or what you want to ignore, as you are already in to deep shit. Again, when it comes to sex scandals it depends upon what do you perceive about sex. Although it’s a form of ‘routine exercise’ for most people, its considered to be a matter of ‘bliss’ by these Swamis. Let them do if you approve, because people normally go to Sadhus’s to attain bliss. I saw the Nithyananda video and could understand how he helps the actress Ranjitha to get Nirvana (read nude).
Coming to Fr.Paul, I am not able to understand the difference between Christians and “pure Christians.” Yes there are scams and scum around. I know, you know and He watches from heaven. Let us (Christians) not pretend. The system should be cleaned. Christianity is not a religion, its a faith and should be practiced and followed that way. There is no place for paedophilia or any other unnatural sex in Christianity. ( I am not for catholic priests getting married and have natural sex either, although the Church is thinking that way and may remove the celibacy clause in another 10-15 years).
Let us come to conversion or forceful conversion. I do not think there is a “forceful conversion” here in this country, although it was there during colonial era. Even if a person converts into Christianity 100 bucks, it should not matter either you or me. He is going to convert to Islam if some Maulana offers 200 bucks.

The swami says he was in SAMADHI at the time of this adult activity,how can this be? he is fooling the people and him self, how one can do this adult activity in the state of deep sleep?He says he was in samadhi,If one is in samadhi or in the deep sleep can any one have the desire to do sex? or as anyone as the desire in the deep sleep. It can be only in the dream and the wakening but not in the samadhi or in the deep sleep. cos the mind as no power to manifest in this state its only bliss or a thought free state.So i want to ask swami how did he did this in the state of trance or samadhi?.
