March 10: Tibet Uprising Day

Tibet uprising, a part of the Tibet freedom movement, failed and the Tibet independence movement was violently suppressed, forcing the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso to flee from the Tibetan country. Tibet today continues to be under the rule of the Chinese government.

One of the major traditions of Tibetan Buddhism is Gelugpa, headed by His Holiness Dalai Lama, who is the leader of Tibet Independence Movement through the Tibetan government in exile.
