March 10, marked as the Tibetan Uprising Day, commemorates the Tibet 1959 armed rebellion against Tibet’s occupation by the People’s Republic of China. Tibet uprising, a part of the Tibet freedom movement, failed and the Tibet independence movement was violently suppressed, forcing the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso to flee from the Tibetan country. Tibet today continues to be under the rule of the Chinese government.
