Pi Day is Albert Einstein’s Birthday

World Pi Day is a holiday observed to celebrate Pi (π) the mathematical constant. People celebrate Pi Day on March 14 (three days before March 17, the St. Patrick’s Day) because the month/date notation for its value 3.14 comes to be March 14. On the International Pi Day, the Pi minute occurs twice – at 1:59 am and 1:59 pm (as the extended value of pi is 3.14159). World Pi Day is also the birthday of Albert Einstein.

Albert Einstein: Religious Beliefs

Born on March 14, 1879, Einstein believed that:

  • a God is one “who reveals Himself in the lawful harmony of the world” and did not concern Himself with thepics-of-albert-einstein-photos-images-237x300 doings and fate of people.
  • God was the product and an expression of human weakness.
  • Bible was a collection of legends that were honourable, but primitive and childish.
  • Man could not understand the nature of God
  • He clearly expressed that he did not believe in a personal God. As Albert Einstein said, “I’m not an atheist and I don’t think I can call myself a pantheist.”

Albert Einstein: Political Beliefs

  • During the German Revolution (November 1918 crisis), Albert Einstein signed for the membership of the German Democratic Party.
  • Albert Einstein,  in 1927, participated in the Brussels congress of the League against Imperialism.
  • A socialist Zionist, he opposed the Nazi movement and supported the creation of the State of Israel, a national homeland for Jews in the British mandate of Palestine.
  • Albert Einstein said that a disorderly capitalist society was the “predatory phase of human development,” an evil that had to be overcome.

Albert Einstein Quotes

  • Imagination is more important than knowledge.
  • Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
  • The only real valuable thing is intuition.
  • I never think of the future. It comes soon enough.
  • Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind.
  • Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.
  • Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.
  • The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge.
